I’m a Jack of All Trades Master of Some

Like most kids I started sketching and coloring pictures at a young age… mostly to pass time in class. When I hit middle school I focused on sports and art became an afterthought. Designing a poster in high school something clicked and I’ve been designing ever since. I’ve designed everything from book covers and posters to logos and websites. I picked up web development along the way, and I also dabble in photography and videography. Give me a challenge, I’ve always enjoyed learning new things.

Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.

Career Path

2009 - 2011

Humble Beginnings

After school I found a job at a digital print company. My transition from traditional graphic design to the web began by jumping in the deep end. i was tasked with creating and maintaining a number of company eCommerce websites designing to generate print jobs. With only basic HTML & CSS skills I was able to learn on the job with a gracious, supportive boss. Still grateful for chance he took on a young, ambitious, unexperienced designer.

2011 - 2013

A Big Jump

After learning the ropes as a lone wolf, I transitioned to a large company with teams of designers and developers. I learned the art of working with clients on large scale projects, handling quick deadlines in a fast-paced environment. I worked under some of the best senior designers I’ve ever met, my “style” changed drastically and I churned out designs like clock work. I also picked up some valuable dev knowledge, delved into content management systems, JavaScript & PHP. I loved working with a great team, but eventually I saw that the grass was greener on the freelance side of the fence.

2013 - Infinity & Beyond

Finding My Fit

I jumped ship to the risky waters of freelance design and development. The transition was a bit rough at first, but I’ve been fortunate to work with amazing clients while experiencing the blessings of a free schedule and mobile workspace. I love to travel and explore, and there’s nothing like working as your own boss. I can’t see myself ever going back to agency life, but I still love to churn out amazing designs and quality builds for my clients.

Hobbies

WORK HARD, PLAY HARD

Playing or watching, competitive or casual, I love the energy and excitement of sports.

MARCH TO THE BEAT OF YOUR OWN DRUM

I’m a drummer at heart, so I always have a beat flowing through my head. I love jamming away and occasionally catching a live show.

Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.

The world is a beautiful place full of amazing cultures, traditions, and people. I want to experience as much of it as I can.
